How to choose earrings for your face shape might not be a question you’ve ever asked yourself – but there is a reason to do it! There is more to choosing an earring than just its beauty – if you really want to wow with your jewelry choices, you just might want to pick a pair of earring that will perfectly compliment your face. Read on to discover which earring is perfect for you!

While every face is unique in its beauty, they all share a certain characteristic – a shape. This can be oval, square, long, round, heart-shaped, diamond.

Just like with makeup and hair, certain shapes can be made more striking by choosing a perfect pair of earrings.

Earrings for a round face

A round face means that your face is wide at your cheekbones and does not narrow down to your chin. Celebrities with a similar face shape are Kate Winslet or Drew Barrymore.

Round faces can benefit from choosing long, drop earrings – a perfect choice to offset the roundness! Studs and hoop earrings have a tendency to enhance the roundness, so if you don’t want that, steer clear!

Earrings for a heart-shaped face

A heart-shaped face is the one that narrows towards the chin, and the forehead is wider than the cheeks. Similar to Reese Witherspoon.

Earring best for hear shaped faces are wider at the bottom – for example, teardrop earrings would be a great choice.

Earrings for an oval face

Oval faces are the lucky ones – almost any earring will work well! Oval faces’ foreheads are not too wide, the line from the forehead matches with the cheekbones, and it may narrow slightly towards the chin. Kate Hudson and Beyoncé Knowles have oval shapes faces.

While pears and teardrops might really compliment these faces, ovals are free to pick, choose and experiment fully!

Earrings for an oblong shape

These kinds of faces are similar to oval shapes, though they are just a little longer and thinner. Angelina Jolie has a similar face shape.

Earring best suited for an oblong face shape are earrings that can give your face a fuller look. Studs, clustered earrings, pearls are some of the choices that can work really well.

Earrings for a square face

Square faces are generally the similar in width from forehead to jawline. One example you may have seen is Salma Hayek.

Hoops are perfect for this face shape, as are any earrings that are longer in length. Any pair with round, soft edges is a great choice.

Earrings for a diamond shape

Diamond faces’ forehead and chin are narrower than the cheekbones. Katherine Hepburn and Sophia Loren are some of the women with diamond-shaped faces.

A good choice for diamond faces are tasseled or wide earrings that can compliment this shape. Earrings with delicate drops are also a good choice.

My experience at Santayana was incredible from start to finish. My fiancé and I wanted to design a wedding band with diamonds we had from both of our grandmothers. The final piece came out better than I could ever have imagined. I love my wedding band so much! Rudy helped us come up with a unique design as we had various shapes and sizes of stones. Santayana jewelers are God Sent! There store is immaculate and every piece is swoon worthy! The customer service is unmatched and their professionalism is evident. I first contacted Santayana when it came highly recommended from other ladies in the area. I was looking to fix my engagement ring that a well known jeweler (Jared’s) severely botched 2 days before my wedding. They tried to fix it but it was not nearly what it was when I was first given my ring. I had two other jewelers take a look and try to fix it but they never knew the vision of what I was explaining and did not improve the ring whatsoever. Fast forward 6 years later, I contacted Santayana. After explaining over the phone my issue, Rudy knew exactly what I was talking about and explained what he believed was the issue and was spot on! I KNEW right then and there that he was the real deal and his years of experience really reflected as we spoke. Let me tell you - when I got my ring back it was exactly how it was when I first received my engagement ring! Something no other jeweler was able to do for me! I am so happy I found them and I will only be taking my business here- I even put a small deposit to hold a piece I fell in love with that I plan to purchase in the near future. I came here to get my engagement ring sized up. They were super friendly and helpful. I messaged them on Yelp with pictures of my ring and got an immediate response and quote from Greg. I dropped my ring off and picked it up the next day perfectly resized. They even gave me a complimentary jewelry cleaner bottle! The location itself is in a large building that hosts over a hundred jewelry and gem showrooms, so it can be a bit of a maze to navigate, but it's clean, safe and welcoming. I'll definitely come back if my ring or other jewelry needs servicing.

I had an awesome experience buying an engagement ring with Santayana Jewelry. I travel all of FL and the US virgin Islands for work, and I would look at local Jewelers in cities like Naples, West Palm, Orlando, Tampa, even in St. Thomas where they are known for their Diamonds. I even looked at online stores. I did a lot of research on the diamond I wanted, the style my wife wanted, and shopped around for a few months. Santayana was the best to work with, and gave the best price for the ring I wanted.I highly recommend going here. My Wife loves her ring, and still tells me this after two years that she loves her ring and still gets complimented on the her ring... we even bought both our wedding bands at Santayana. Plus, my Wife bought her mom a pearl ring at this store as a gift. Every time I went into the store the customers told me sincerely how wonderful the store was and the customer service. I experienced it first hand. When shopping for an engagement ring, I did a Google search and stumbled upon Santayana. I am not experienced with jewelry, and it's huge investment. I was skeptical to see all 5-star reviews, but when I saw in the comments there were so many satisfied customers, we had nothing to lose! We specifically were drawn to the CUSTOM engagement rings that people were raving about. Upon arrival, Rudy was quick to greet us, and once he was free, he consulted with us, asked many questions to get a good idea of what we were looking for, and proceeded to pull out his laptop and DESIGN THE RING IN FRONT OF OUR EYES. I couldn't believe his skill level!! We designed several rings, and eventually settled on one. And Rudy explained that he would have it 3D printed and we can come in and try it on. We heard from him shortly after that, tried it on, and gave final tweaks. A few months later, I was surprised by the most STUNNING, CUSTOM, GORGEOUS ring I have ever seen. I can't thank Rudy and his team enough for such a perfect experience. I will be going to him for our wedding bands, and sending all of our family and friends to him.

We are so happy with the quality of the jewelry and level of service provided by Rudy and his mother-in-law Nury. My partner picked out an engagement ring but knew I most likely wanted to design a ring, Rudy made it easy for us to exchange for a custom ring. The design process was so much fun! Rudy is super creative and passionate about design, and you can see his work while he draws it up on the computer in real time. We showed him a couple of pictures for inspiration, adding our feedback. He was super patient and really wanted to make us something we would love. The coolest part is getting to come back a couple of days later to see (and keep) the 3-D printed mold to check out the setting and fit. They are a local family owned and operated store using some very cool tech. My ring is stunning. Can’t recommend this store enough and to return for our bands. Thanks again.

The folks at Santayana are wonderful to do business with them. They have a unique selection of jewelry like I have never seen before. I was greeted with so much kindness and patience even though they were technically closed. They took the time to share all the wonderful one of a kind creations they have been designing and offered several payment options which are pretty awesome. I was very happy to have walked out with my Valentine's present for my boyfriend. Had they not been so kind and let me in, I would not have a Valentines present for Tuesday because I live far away and cannot make it during weekdays. Phenomenal experience, I’m suprised there aren’t more reviews, considering this is a family owned business for many decades. I came to fix two broken chains and walked out in 10 mins completely satisfied with one gold chain fixed and the other silver chain was Unsalvageable so I bought another great quality silver chain for a cheap price 👍🏻 . Nice ambience , and extremely friendly employees. Would definitely recommend and come again :)

Santayana was amazing! I had such a challenge finding someone to make me custom wedding band in my area because of the way my ring was made. Rudy and his team, had no doubts about it. Everything from the size and the details on the ring were everything I asked for. My wrist was measured for the best size, the width of the bracelet was recommended, and the additional enhanced bracelet was suggested. All demonstrated to totally satisfy me.
